DM Flak

I'm DM Flak. A Royal Navy veteran, an engineer, a husband, and a father. When I'm not immersed in a good book or crafting my own stories, you'll often find me out on the hills, enjoying a walk with my family and our Labrador, or at Sandy Park with my beloved Chiefs.

My writing journey began, quite simply, because I'm a huge reader. I grew up devouring the works of authors like Lee Child, Wilbur Smith, Bernard Cornwell, Jack Higgins, and Tom Clancy. Their ability to weave intricate plots, develop compelling characters, and build worlds that feel both expansive and deeply personal has always inspired me.

Now, I channel that passion into creating my own high-stakes thrillers. I love building intricate alternate histories and exploring the complex dynamics of geopolitical conflicts. My current project, a compelling trilogy, is where I delve into the nitty-gritty of military strategy and the raw, human cost of survival. I aim to create stories that are gritty, plausible, and keep readers on the edge of their seats, much like the authors who first captivated me.

I write for those who appreciate a good, immersive story, filled with tension, strategy, and characters facing impossible choices. I am currently hard at work on the next instalment of my trilogy, eager to share more of the world I'm building.

An engaging and well-researched alternate-history thriller.

The premise of a Nazi-controlled Britain is chillingly believable, and the story balances action with moral complexity. Strong pacing, vivid scenes, and a central character you genuinely care about.

A very solid debut — recommended for fans of historical thrillers.
